Reverse Greensprings. Felt great again. Now its rest time until the big day. The kids are getting sick. I really hope I dont get it cause that would really bite the goat.

PR for me by 30 minutes. Now that makes me a happy boy. Wow. What can you say about today? A bit o' rain and wind makes for a hard run. I talked with Marci for a sec before the start and thought that Id run the first several miles with her. That way we could help each other keep a good pace and after that I would start picking it up. That didnt happen. I lost her after several steps then found her again and then I just felt so good I picked up the pace. Ran a few miles with Ryan and the Bull and figured Id stick with them and that would give me a good time. That didnt work either. I was still feeling frisky so I sped up more. Dispite the rain (actually I love the rain. Id run in it all the time if I could) and wind I was feeling really good until about mile 21. I held it together pretty well until the last two miles and then I slowed noticeably. It was fun to run by people and know they where cheering for you cause there was no one else around. That helps. Even though I didnt get as low a time as I hoped for (but everyones times where off so we all got the shaft there) I still feel really good about this run. I ran smart and just followed my body and kept positive. I wont give splits cause thats alot of spliting.

Parkway. Decided to go out for a few easy miles to see how the body feels. Calves got a bit tight for a mile or so but loosened up toward the end. The wind was blowing and it was pretty chilly out but other than that it was a good little run.

Greensprings. Felt a bit tired in the legs so I tried to not go quite as fast as normal. Ended up going faster than normal. What the heck?

City Wells. Good to get out and run away from cars and houses. Plus the temps where much cooler off the pavement. Down hill on the way back so it got some good speed on the way home.

Parkway over the freeway then the back way into Greensprings. Just went however the body wanted to go. Sometimes fast, other times slow. Fun run.

Club run down West Rim? trail in Zions. I ran later last night so I wasnt sure how well I would do this morning but I wanted to give it a go anyway. You never know what Steve is going to do on a long run and I didnt want to miss anything. Didnt sleep much at night so that didnt help. It was a beautiful day for a run and we didnt go out to fast so I was able to hang in there for a while. On the second major uphill I was spent and just couldnt get the legs or lungs to work. Ran into quite a few people coming up the Angels Landing trail. You could tell most of them where thinking "why are these fools running down this steep trail in the cold with no shirts on?" It was a fun run and good to get out with everyone again. Plus Steve ate it HARD on one down hill section and it was one of those things that you say ouch as it happens but then is kind of funny afterwards.

City Wells. Body is feeling better after a couple days off from Saturdays hip/quad buster. I was planning on doing more but when I checked the time at 3 miles out I saw I was going to be late for a dinner appointment. Came back the short way and ran hard to get home.

Parkway/Highland. Decided to take the less steep route up to Highland. My legs appreciated that break. Its nice to not be dying of heat stroke on evening runs.

Middleton. Excellent run tonight. Legs were fresh and everything just felt good. Took it nice and easy and ended up hitting a couple miles at low 6s. Didnt feel like I sped up at all but looks like I did. Nice to have a run that feels good. They are too few and far between.

Parkway/Grapevine. I was going to just run out to the bottom of the ridge and then come back. but I got to the bottom and thought " hey, maybe I'll run up this hill a couple times." Why did I think that? I was able to finish going up twice at a fairly good pace and that was enough so I jogged it on home. Amazingly I still felt good today. My legs are a little sore now but not to bad. Maybe Im actually starting to get into some kind of shape.

Parkway. Another beautiful evening for a run. Went out easy and was once again feeling very good and was going faster that it felt like I was. At mile 4 it went away. I think I was running on the icecream cake I had at lunch and it wore off. It was like someone turned off a switch and the juice just left my legs. Nothing worse than coming down off a sugar high.
