Not too far tonight but I did pick up the pace for a couple miles to see how I could do. Got a couple in the high 5's. Not to bad for an old man. If I can get to the point where I can do that for a whole marathon that would be nice.

Up to Elks lodge and back. Nice cool night and my legs felt good. Made for a great run.

Did a 1 1/2 mile warm up and then the race. Ran with a kid that used to live at the apartments for most of the race but he pulled away at the last and I was out of gas so I let him go. Im just trying to keep the Holt tradition of coming in second place going. Will try and run this evening to get some distance in.

| I did better that I thought I would today. I havent run since last Saturday and was a little worried about today but I made it. That is not an easy course. Ran a couple miles after the race with Dave, Clyde and Steve. | Comments(4) |

Finally got my butt out of bed for a morning run. Ran down to the river trail and out to Bloomington and back. I didnt even need any liquid because of all the gnats I swallowed. Yummy. It works best when they hit you right in the eye at mach 10 cause then the nutrients go straight to your blood stream for a quick boost of energy. Good stuff.

More treadmill miles. Figured it would be easier than trying to fight the stoplights and cars. Im a little nervous for tomorrow. I know i can run it and finish with an ok time but I really want to PR but I havent been consistant enough in my training to really race the run. As long as i finish under my own power I guess thats fine.

Well I did better than I was expecting but I was pretty well beat by about mile 9. I kept looking at my watch to see if I was slowing down cause it sure felt like I was. I had to make an unscheduled bathroom stop at mile 3 and that threw me off a little. I beat my PR by over 14 minutes so that was SWEET!!! I feel real good about this race and am excited to get some good training in and see what happens next.
