| Grapevine. Had to hurry and get home so I hit Grapevine at a good pace then did 2.5 on the treadmill at an easy pace to cool down. Most of the stiffness worked itself out after several blocks and I felt good. |

| Parkway/Firestation. Easy cheesy. More tightness with a bit of pain but I was able to survive. |

Had a fun time running on Mike Warrens team. They said I was the ringer to make up the slack but we all know that isnt true.
Ran legs 5,10 and overall feel pretty good about it. Leg 5 was 6:00 avg for just over 4 miles and I felt like I saved something for the second leg. Leg 10 felt pretty good for the first mile then I could tell I was beat. I was trying to catch the team just in front as they where in our co-ed division but he just had to much juice and left me big time. Hit the first 3 at about 6:10 but then slowed to a dead crawl for the last 3 and ended with a 6:38 avg for the 6.7 miles.
Ran into Matt from LV that I ran with down at Surf City last year and that was kind of fun to talk for a few minutes. He was on the winning co-ed team. |

| Parkway. Nice run pushing Ada in the stroller. The rains had just stopped and there was a slight breeze to push us down the road. No groin/ab pain. (At least there wasnt until a few minutes ago when Ada karate kicked me right in the junk.) I love kids sometimes. Hammys are pretty tight though. |

| City Wells. Not a bad run but I can tell Im falling out of shape from lack of constant training. Pretty tired during most of the jog. |

| Landfill. Tired jog to the landfill. I was hoping that maybe they would have done something on the washed out trail but no such luck. Unfortunatly that might never get fixed. |

| Junction. Seeing as Emily won me a entry into the Sandhollow marathon on the 26th I decided to try and run today. Took it easy and felt good with no extended pain. Should be interesting to see how well I can do a marathon on 30 miles a week training. If anyone sees me dead on the side of the road you will know why. |

| Grapevine over to Coral Canyon with a little extension down to the Highland park and back. First time in months that I didnt have any ab/grion issues until about mile 8 then it tightened up a bit. I was really enjoying not having any issues during that first few miles. |

| Club loop with Steve, Aaron, Amber and Ty. It was nice to have some ladies out on the run. Felt pretty labored and tired. Tight too. |

I was watching the kids so I thought I would do my run on the treadmill. Started hurting almost right away and it got worse the further I went so I bagged it.
Went out later in the night on the Parkway and felt much better. I think no more treadmill for me. |

| Grapevine. A little sore from yesterday but that worked itself out after a few minutes and the rest of the run was uneventful. |

| Landfill. Legs felt good after a few miles to warm up but the abs hurt more than they have in quite a while. Pretty sore now 2 hours later. |

| Parkway. Got home late from work and didnt get out until 9:30. Ada was still awake and wanted to go with me so I bundled her up warm and off we went. Felt better than the last 2 days with only a few twinges of what ever the heck is wrong. Excited but nervous for the race Saturday as I havent done any runs over 14 miles for several months. Will see what happens I guess. |

Had a really fun time today at the race. The course was diffucult but enjoyable at the same time. Thankfully the wind wasnt an issue and the rain held off until the last couple miles.
Started off easy with Nate Bundy and we ran together for a few miles and chatted about running. Everything felt good so I picked up the pace just a little. My garmin apparently didnt pick up any signal so when we started I wasnt getting any pace info. That took about a half mile to figure out so I dont have any accurate splits.
Had fun running along enjoying the views and weather and chatted with Ty for a bit as I caught up to her coming around the lake. Once we started into the houses by the lake I started to feel the lack of proper marathon training. My easy to hold pace was becoming a bit of a labor to maintain. From here on out I just tried to keep positive and remind myself that I wasnt here to race but to get in a good training run and see how the injury would play out.
I did fairly well until the hill coming out of Sand Hollow. I slowed to almost a walk up that sucker and my abs got really tight for the remainder of the run which caused my hips to tighten up which made everything uncomfortable. I took plenty of water at each station and grabed a cliff shot every 7 miles and I think that helped me make it through.
The last 4 miles into town where pretty brutal as my legs where completely gone and I was struggling to hold a 7 min pace. I even turned off my music and passed it off to my dad as he came by in the car so I could concentrate on breathing and listen to my body better. Some where in here I got a nice surge of energy and picked up the pace for about a mile but then that burned out and I was left to talk my legs into working for the last bit.
I checked to watch and calculating in the missed 1/2 mile I figured I could still beat 3 hours (which I didnt think I could do), so I tryed really hard to work the last mile. Im sure it wasnt very quick but I was trying hard.
So it turned out to be a fun run, the abs held up ok and I dont think my fitness has completly left so that gives me hope for Utah Valley. |

2.4 around turf farm with the family at a super easy pace.
4.6 Parkway at a little faster pace. Felt pretty good for the first run after the race. A little tight in the calves but over all not bad. Right knee swelled up Saturday and is still a little stiff but I dont think i'll die from it. |
