Not much to say about today. I did PR by almost a minute but Im had to fight for every second of it. Maybe I went out too fast, maybe im not completly over the sickness, maybe the planets arent alligned right. Hit mile 19 and died. Thankfully Dave waited for me and helped me finish the last several miles. If not for his help I would have done a lot of walking to the finish. I just couldnt get the legs to respond to anything. They felt heavy and had no energy whatsoever. Probably the worst my body has ever felt during a run of any kind.

Well, you only had a couple of miles over a 7 min. pace. Great job! Hope you recover well.

Hey a PR is a PR! And this makes you that much better for the next one. You know that you will never give in, even when it is falling apart all around you. You still kept pushing.

From Dustin on Sat, Oct 03, 2009 at 16:42:22 from 209.33.192.10

Great job James, it was fun running with you the first 7 miles, sorry things didn't workout better. But hey you still got a PR, you should feel good about that.

Very impressive James! Nice to talk with you after the race. When you can PR on an off day, that really says something.

From Kelli on Sat, Oct 03, 2009 at 22:26:15 from 75.162.136.134

I am sure it was the full moon that did it! But, heck, I am still impressed with your race. Sorry it did not turn out the way you hoped, but wway to fight for that PR!!! Congratulations, PR's are awesome.

James-

Great job at the marathon. You really did a great job. Like Dave said, a PR is just that! You will just keep getting better!

From Superfly on Sun, Oct 04, 2009 at 13:29:55 from 208.117.127.110

Sorry you felt so crappy James. A PR on a bad day is kind of good though. Your a 2:30 something marathoner and if you keep at it you'll get in to come together. Marathons are cruel...

From Nate the Great on Sun, Oct 04, 2009 at 14:32:46 from 207.50.145.56

You inspire a lot of people, James. And not just old washed up runners!

From Paul on Sun, Oct 04, 2009 at 17:09:58 from 174.23.93.194

Great job on the PR. Sounds like it was very hard fought, but those are the best PR's.

From MarcieJ on Sun, Oct 04, 2009 at 18:12:45 from 74.211.7.245

You did great and wait to power through when you were not feeling it! What a great brother to help you through too!

From RivertonPaul on Sun, Oct 04, 2009 at 18:38:06 from 75.169.4.137

Nice job on the PR.

From Bec on Sun, Oct 04, 2009 at 21:54:17 from 67.177.35.60

Nice race! Way to PR! Enjoy a well deserved break.

From Vis on Sun, Oct 04, 2009 at 22:33:17 from 208.88.8.20

Nice Personal Record. Oh and you rocked Dave. Doesn't sound like a terrible day to me.

From James on Sun, Oct 04, 2009 at 23:36:42 from 174.23.35.13

I agree with Paul the hard fought PRs are the best.

Sorry to hear, I have those marathons and they are frustrating. But good one will follow.
