Once again I find myself plesantly suprised by the outcome of another race. 5 minute PR and I can walk without feeling like someone is ripping my calfs in half which hasnt happened the last two years at this race. I had been feeling like my training wasnt up to par since running Odgen so I wasnt making any big plans today, just run and see how it goes.

I was afraid that I might have gone out a bit to quick and would die at the end so once the canyon started I figured just go and deal with the consiquences at miles 8-13. Suprisingly I didnt die too bad out of the canyon and even though I was pushing I still had the juice to pick it up the last mile and keep from being passed. I needed this to help remotivate me for St. George and for running in general. Excited for everyones good race today. Even you Dave, your times are nothing to be scoffed at, ever!

So what's new James? Like I always say, come race day the real James shows up. Your the running version of Jason from Friday the 13th. Man, your splits are awesome. Very impressed that you stuck that last mile back in the 5's, WOW!!!

Congratulations on the improvement. You ran the right pace. When you get in shape, halves start to hurt like 5 Ks. Because you are now running them almost as fast as you would a 5 K. Do not be afraid to find yourself breathing hard 3 miles into a half. Even if you go out fast and die sometimes, with better training and more sleep you'll hold the pace next time around.

Nicely done James. Sorry, I can't send Jamie Holt the $500 check, they gave it to Melanie. Next time you'll just have to win a check yourself. :) I wouldn't put it past you!

Great job James! I am not surprised at your times, you work hard and you are humble when doing it. You should be excited for the Marathon this year, I think that you are on line for a huge PR!

Great job James. Congrats on the PR. You are turning into quite the speed demon.

You smoked it - really proud of you and all the hard work and dedication you are showing! Keep it up (no zero days) and you will be breaking 2:40 at SGM!
