Had a good rain today so I figured it was a perfect time to hit Millcreek before the horses tore it to crap. One rider beat me to the punch but thankfully he didnt destroy the trail to bad. Got to the creek bed and decided to just head up until I didnt feel like running anymore. Made it up almost to the mountain then it started to hail and I got super cold. Only had shorts and tee shirt on so I figured id better get started back so I didnt catch cold. Only made it 1/2 mile and my shirt was soaked, heavy and freezing. Decided it would be better to take it off and not have that cold rag against my skin. As long as I was moving it was ok but I had to stop a couple times to remove rocks/sand from the shoes and that took a while with frozen fingers that couldnt work the laces. I got tunnel vision pretty bad on the way back. Not sure if it was from the cold or the cliffs being so close for so long but it was a very wierd feeling. Hit the wall with about 6 miles to go and got nervous that I might be in trouble but the rain/hail stopped and then I came out of the close quarters in the creek bed and the open view in front of me was like heaven. Another really wierd feeling. Once I got to the tortise fence I picked up the pace to a comfortable hard pace so I could get back to a warm shower before I did some damage running in a rain storm shirtless in the winter.
Sounds like a bad time but I actually had a good time. Very cold coming home but good. The legs came around from the vacation they took the last few days and I saw some incredible views that most people never see.
