Had a great weekend relaxing on Mikes houseboat and visiting/swimming/watching tv/riding jetskis. Also ran a race in between all the fun. I had no expectations only being 2 weeks out from St. George and with last weeks runs feeling pretty hard.  Its a fun course through some home areas of Page for a few miles then out onto a dirt trail that runs along the rim over looking the lake for 2 miles. Then it drops down along the highway and crosses the bridge and runs along the frontage road to Wahweep marina. I started off with a pace that I felt I could hold and went from there. I was in about 10th place coming into the trail and feeling pretty good and I love me some trail running so I passed a couple of guys here and then stayed in 8th for the remainder of the race. I got pretty tired coming out of the dirt and thought that it was going to be a bad last half but after crossing the bridge my body came alive and I was able to really work up the hills along the frontage road. I worked hard at chasing down 6-7 but they held their pace stong and all I could do was close the gap a bit. Ended up breaking the masters course record by over 12 minutes (technically Walter has run faster twice but he won the race those two times so he doesnt count). Happy to have such a good race so close after a marathon. Had a blast before, during and after the race. Really glad I went.

Big thanks to Walter for getting me in at the last moment. Thanks tons!!!!
