Started out with a good warmup jog with Dave and then jumped right to the line for the start. I didnt want to race all out as the marathon is only two weeks out but I still wanted to get a good workout in. My goal was to go at about 6:05-6:10 for the first 8 then take the last 5 at 5:55.  With the exception of miles 2 and 5 I was right there. I really wanted to race and had to remind myself many times not to take off during the first 3 miles. Got talking to a guy from Taylorsville who had just gotten in to running and that helped the miles pass until it was time to take off. Hayden came up behind me about mile 8 and helped me hold a really good pace the last 5 just like i wanted. No ab pain to speak of. Not an overall PR but a course pr by 2 minutes and I still feel really good. Hope I can keep that up until the marathon.

Smart way to run it. Should be a great tune up before the race. If the pace felt doable you may want to take a good crack at sub 2:40 down there. Good job!

Great job James, sounds like it was a good warm-up for your marathon. Good luck with that. I need to get back in shape so I can come run with you guys.

You Know that was my plan to run that race like you did! I always get caught up at the start and push out way to hard. Great race to you and good luck in your Marathon.

James, you looked like you were just out for an easy jog....little effort. That is an awesome race for you with you holding back.

Brent - Unfortunatly youve got me mixed up with Dave. He's the good runner and coach in the family. I just tag along and look forward to the races he doesnt run so I can actually place near the top. Thanks though.

Walter, Josse and Bec, thank you. Its good to know someone cares. :)

Clyde - Mike sneekes back across the boarder from time to time to see how the other half lives.

Scott - Its a curse I have. Actually you where going so fast as I tried to get around you that it made it seem like I wasnt working.
