| Firestation+/Sienna Hills. For the first time ever Im going to follow a training plan for a marathon. Ive pretended to before but never really followed through. This time ive got it all lined out with daily mileages and paces for specific workouts. Id like to see what this old body can do before it breaks down. Let the 12 weeks of fun begin! |

| River trail/Landfill. 3(1.5t with .5 recovery) Warmed up down to the bottom of the Hell Hole drop then jumped right into my 1st 1.5 miler. This was supposed to be 10k to 1/2 marathon race effort so I took what I judged I could run one at right now. Goal was 5:47 for all three with no watch checking. Lets just say that someone overestimated his speed ability at this stage of the game. 1 - 1.5 @ 5:51 2 - 1.5 @ 5:49 3 - 1.5 @ 5:53 That was tough. I turned off the music so I could concentrate on breathing and form. That didnt help much cause I was gasping and wheezing something horrible and probably looked like a mess of stick arms and legs flailing everywhere. I didnt think I could do more than one but Im trying to be better at going out of my comfort zone so I pushed through the 2nd and just hoped that I was close on the 3rd cause I was spent. These where probably more LT than tempo pace but its been so long since I ran really hard that I wasnt sure where I stood speed wise. 1.8 cool down back home.

| City Wells. A bit sore starting the run and by the end my quads where pretty tender. Easy easy recovery run. |

Hell Hole. Frustrating few days and the run didnt help any so I turned around and came home after a couple. Feels like before surgery again and hurts at night and when sitting. Trying to be positive and patient but pretty frustrated with it. |

| Parkway. Lots of stretching before, after and all through the day. Seems to help but Im super gun shy about running very far or fast. |

| Grapevine. Again lots of stretching all through the day and before and after. Had the burning sensation all across the lower abs on the way back. Thankfully now a few hours later it doesnt hurt but still uncomfortable. |

| Bone Wash. Went out by way of the school to drop off some supplies to the little woman then came back via Main. Alternated between feeling nothing at all (which was super awesome) and very uncomfortable. I think the stretching is helping but Im still jumpy with every little twinge that comes along. I think this whole thing has been to try and teach me patients. Stupid life lessons. |

Was a little nervous about doing this run with the body being moody right now but ended up feeling pretty good and had a real fun run. Met up at the Elim Valley subdivision, signed in and got the race route from the director. These Underground Runner events are really low key. No timing or aid stations. Just come out and run and get a cool finishers medal.
Started easy and didnt feel any issues so I moved in to a comfortable pace and hoped for the best. Ran west along the rim of the river to the Dam Road and then back. Had a few good sized climbs and lots of rolling so it wasnt an easy run by any means. Legs got pretty cold and lots of the little changes in the flow of the trail that normally wouldnt bother caused weird twisting and pulling but I think I came through unscathed. Glad I went and as a bonus I got a super cool mayan calender finisher medal. |
