Not much to say about today. I did PR by almost a minute but Im had to fight for every second of it. Maybe I went out too fast, maybe im not completly over the sickness, maybe the planets arent alligned right. Hit mile 19 and died. Thankfully Dave waited for me and helped me finish the last several miles. If not for his help I would have done a lot of walking to the finish. I just couldnt get the legs to respond to anything. They felt heavy and had no energy whatsoever. Probably the worst my body has ever felt during a run of any kind.

Grapevine. Calves are still pretty tight when running and the legs are really tired but it was good to get out.

Millcreek then up SandHill and home via City Wells. Calves are still tight but it was a fun run. I only had to stop once to empty sand out of my shoes. Im trying to get back to enjoying my daily runs and not worry so much about training. I seem to run better when I just sit back and enjoy the ride instead of trying to get specific mileage/times/speed. Follow the body instead of force it so to speak.

West Rim trail with Bill, Steve, Logan, Clyde and Scott. Not feeling the running vibe lately but I figured id go because it was such fun last year. Wasnt able to go very fast and felt spent the whole run. Thankfully everyone else would stop every so often and wait for me so I didnt fall to far behind. The weather couldnt have been better and the views where incredible. Had a sad experience with a little fawn and that killed the mood of the run for everyone I think. This will be a run to remember thats for sure.

Greensprings. Todays pace was much better than most of my recent runs. Legs got a little heavy around 6. I didnt slow down although it felt like it did. I know that it will still be a few weeks before the legs are back from the marathon but the way they started to feel during todays run was how they felt when I died during the race. I might start tracking meals and nightly sleep to see if thats playing some part in my constant tiredness.

Landfill. Where were these legs on race day? Had a great run today. A touch windy but I felt really good so I didnt mind. There is a 12% incline for about 1/2 mile coming up out of the river and that thing has kicked my ^$% all summer. Today was the first time in several months that I had the legs to make it from the bottom to the top without walking for some of it. I think its the Cumulus 9's. My highest mileage shoe and they just keep going. Id give my left something to find a couple more pairs of them.

Fields. Another good run except the last couple miles. Legs ran out of gas. I think ive got a fueling issue. Didnt eat a very good breakfast and lunch didnt consist of much either. Going to have to start eating better. Right after I find a job that will pay enough so i can actually buy food each month.

Grapevine/Highland. Ran a loop around the top of Highland to add a little more to the run but it didnt end up giving much more distance. Good run for the most part and the weather was just incredible. Legs didnt like going up the hill and neither did the lungs but I survived. Scared a couple ladies that were out walking their stupid purse dogs. I thought they heard me coming up on them but turns out they didnt and they where cursing me as I passed them. They probably thought they were going to get mugged out there in the middle of nowhere. That thought was most likely replaced by laughter as they realized that a stiff breeze could take me down and they wouldnt have much trouble either. |
