Ran a mock race on the old Trails 1/2 marathon route with Dave, Clyde, Bill, Mike and Art. Easy 3 warm up and then got to the "race". Didnt have any real plans as to pace but I did want to run it as well as I could without killing myself. Ended with a 1:18:40 which was better than I thought I would do. It was shifting between feeling ok to wanting to just slow and jog for almost the whole run so considering that I feel pretty good about it. Easy 4 cooldown.

8 - Landfill. Great day for running. Overcast and not very warm. Legs felt good again but Im coming into my pre-SGM sickness. I get sick about this time every year and here it is again. I was hoping that i'd pass it up this year but thats not to be I guess. Loading up on orange juice and Emergen-c so hopefully it runs its course fast and I can get back to normal cause last year this killed my race. I was planning on another 4-5 this evening but now im not sure.

4 - Parkway short. Decided to give it a try this evening and it wasnt too bad. Headache and sore throat are getting worse though. Blah.

6 - Grapevine. Super slow. Alternated between feeling ok and gross. Trying to get rid of the sick but cant stop running. I tried that last year and it didnt help at all.

6 - Parkway. Better pace and excellent temps for a run. Only felt crumby for a few minutes and the rest of the run was good.

Marathon course with Dave. Started at the bottom of Veyo hill and ran to the finish. Good pace. Picked it up a little from Winchester to the end. Cool down back to the church. Great temps and felt decent. Cant ask for much more.

Treadmill. Got to stay home with a sick child so I ran on the treadmill. I did open all the windows in the house so I could at least enjoy the beautiful temps somewhat. Calves where a little tight from Sat but nothing horrible.

6 - Greensprings. Another beautiful morning out. Run was ok but not the best.

4 - Treadmill. Watching kids again so I couldnt get outside. Didnt feel horrible but I could tell I was worn out. Didnt go to far as tomorrow is supposed to be a speed workout.

Fields/River trail. 3 mile warm up then we started running. I realized as the guys pulled away that I had no idea what kind of workout I was supposed to be doing or how long it was going to be. Decided to try for MP miles and see what happened. Never got to race pace and each mile got slower and slower. Body is just plain tired.

Marathon course. Started off by myself and figured I stay that way most of the run but Mike had other ideas. When I caught up with him he drafted off me of several miles then he took off when I stopped for a restroom break. Caught up with him just outside of town and ran the rest of the way together. Ran the last mile at sub marathon pace just because I could. Felt great. I love runs like this. To bad they are so few and far between.

4 - Treadmill.

6 - Grapevine. Nice night for a run. Felt good with just a little soreness from Saturday. Thought I might have done myself in earlier today as I went for a hike. While climbing up a cliff I stepped down on a sandstone ledge and the whole thing collapsed under me. I slid down a ways and all the sandstone that had broken away landed on my left shin. Got some really good scrapes and two golf ball size lumps for my troubles but nothing bad. Fortunatly it didnt effect my running at all tonight.

7 - Landfill shortened. Nice morning for a jog. Felt a little tired but nothing horrible.

Fields past corn maze. Another great night for a run. Went easy and enjoyed the solitude. To bad its so crowded in the fields anymore. Miss the days when the only person you would see out there was the occasional farmer instead of 10,000 Escalades and Land Rovers.

Went all over trying to avoid roads with traffic as Ive had way to many close calls the last few nights. Parkway to the Maverik then back down to the river trail and out to the landfill and ran around out there then back. Thought the moon would be up to give some light on the trail but that wasnt the case until the way back and it was still pretty dark. I tried to throw some marathon pace miles in but after 3 that where way to much effort even with the down hill I called it quits on the fast. The legs were shot the rest of the run. Not a very good or enjoyable run. Glad its over.

Firestation and back via Main. Had a fun evening with Dave, Logan, Steve and families swimming and eating at Daves. Good food and swimming. Lots of fun. Took it easy for 3 then hit 2 (6:17,6:07) at a faster pace then cooled down the last mile home. Not bad. Trying to not overthing things and just let everything happen.

Landfill. Usually I feel pretty crappy on short turn around but this mornings run was good. Most likely because of the decrease in miles this week. Went easy but the legs felt good to go.
