Had Emily drive me up towards the top of Highland and then ran to the start of the race for a small warm up. My goal was to have a higher mileage week and put all the miles before the race then try and race on a tired body and see what happened. Worked out pretty well. Went out a touch quicker than felt comfortable and was around 6-7th place I think after a couple miles. Im glad I didnt look at the watch as I might have gotten frustrated with the pace cause it felt like I was working much harder than I was going but I was able to pass a few people before the soccer park and then 1 more at the dr's free clinic. Legs protested most of the race but held together pretty well. 5:47,5:45,5:59,5:56,6:06,6:04,5:57,6:00,6:01,6:03,6:05,6:08,6:00,5:44(.1)

Yeah those splits are great. Way to keep it real through the last 6 miles.

Great race at the end of a legit week! Congratulations!
