Ran a short warm up cause it was close to race time when I arrived. Went out with Dave and the XC boys figuring if I stuck around them id hit a good time. Legs didnt have much energy and the down hills felt hard from the very start. They boys pulled away coming down Coral Canyon and I couldnt stick with them. Started getting frustrated mentally and had to keep reminding myself these kids are 25+ years younger than me and Im already running on tired legs from earlier in the week. Tried to hold it together but really got angry at the lack of course marking/help at an out/back section by the park. Nobody was giving clear direction and I had no clue where to go so I just turned around and called it good. The rest of the run was pretty crappy and hard. Tried to finish strong hoping to break into the 16s but the damage was done.

Good race on a tired body I guess.

Sorry about the frustration during the run. A good time. Racing against youngsters by us old guys is getting tougher (physically and mentally).

As per you long term goals...keep enjoying running is a key!
